After installing CF11 Update 5 I noticed I'm get an error in the server.log file.

Prior to installing Update 5, I was running Update 3 without any issues.

The server is W2012R2 with CF11 64 bit Standard Edition.

"Error","Thread-12","05/13/15","04:31:46",,"Registration error for service manager : .http://127.0.0.1:8987/PDFgServlet/.Reason: JAVA.UTIL.CONCURRENTMODIFICATIONEXCEPTION"

"Error","ajp-bio-8014-exec-1","05/13/15","15:32:03",,"java.util.ConcurrentModificationExce ption"

"Error","ajp-bio-8014-exec-1","05/13/15","15:32:03",,"Connection verification failed. http://127.0.0.1:8987/PDFgServlet/verify"

Any suggestions as to where to look, to fix this?

Thanks,

IIS7.5 with ColdFusion 9.0.1 64bit - IIS error 500

$

Hi,

I have the following:

Windows 2008 R2 sp1 64bit

IIS 7.5

ColdFusion 9 64bit, upgraded to 9.0.1 64bit

After installing ColdFusion 9, and upgrading to 9.0.1, I get IIS 500 errors for any file .cfm, .txt, etc.  IIS was working prior to the CF install.

Based on research, I've confirmed:

CGI, ISAPI Extensions, ISAPI filters, IIS 6 Managment Compatiblity all installed

If IIS/pplicaiton pool: Enable 32-bit applicaitons = True - Then I get IIS error 500 19 5 31 with a .cfm file, error 500 0 193 593 .txt or 500 0 193 15 .jpg.

If IIS/Applicaiton pool: Enable 32-bit applications = False - Then I get IIS error 500 0 1001 93 and an system log event 'A process serving application 'DefaultAppPool' terminated unexpecedly.  Event ID 5009, source - WAS.

I'd think enable 32-bit applicaitons should be false, since I'm using 64bit CF.  Why does the AppPool crash then?

Any ideas?

Coldfusion 9 problems - have to keep restarting service every now and then

I've been having problems lately with Coldfusion 9 on Windows.

Apache logs show:

But Coldfusion is responsive (on port 8500).

The problem seems to get fixed if I stop both Apache, and Coldfusion, and restart them again.

CPU use and Memory use at the time of the problem are minimal (around 2% and 1GB for CF).

I believe the problem is with the Connector itself, but I have no idea how to diagnose.

It's not saturation, because at the time of the problem, around 4-5 requests are being serviced (according to cfstats)

Any ideas how to attack the problem of what other information I can provide? It's driving me nuts, since I cannot figure it out.

Thanks in advance.

The "Verify all Service Manager" in the PDF Service page say:

"Connection verification failed for PDF Service Manager: localhost Check logs for more details."

I the log i found only this line (/opt/coldfusion/cfusion/logs/server.log)

     "Error","ajp-bio-8014-exec-4","11/18/15","14:16:03",,"Connect to 127.0.0.1:8987 [/127.0.0.1] failed: Connection refused http://127.0.0.1:8987/PDFgServlet/verify"

After some google serch i found that page: https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/pdf-generation-in-coldfusion.html

But .... i've a SLES 12 (Suse Linux Enterprise Server) and i don't find on YAST all the libraries that this Adobe document mention.

What i've to do? Whare i can find that libraries?

Adobe tell me that CF 11 work on SLES 12 and i want it all work.

In need the right library for my operating system and the correct instruction for made PDF server oin CF11 work on SLES 12

ColdFusion 11 Instances not starting properly after server restart

Hello, we have following situation and can't seem to find a fix or workaround for it. Could you help?

On all 4 of our Windows Server 2012 R2 servers running on vitrual machines with 8 vcpu cores each, we have 10 instances running ColdFusion 11 update 6, the instances are the same on all 4 servers, 2 servers are used for test/qa and 2 for production. On all of those servers, after servers are restarted some instances don't start properly and need to be manually restarted to start working; it seems that on average at any time 2 to 4 instances won't start and those are not the same instances every time. We were looking at the log files and we think we found what the issue is, but not sure how to go around it or fix it. When instances are starting, the following error shows up in the logs files of the instances that don't start properly (see down this post for actual log entries):

Oct 13, 2015 7:52:25 AM org.eclipse.jetty.util.log.JavaUtilLog warn

WARNING: FAILED ServerConnector@69f41e78{HTTP/1.1}{0.0.0.0:5500}: java.net.BindException: Address already in use: bind

As you can see in the log files below, the instances actually start, but when someone goes to CF Admin or tries to do anything with ColdFusion on those instances, all they see is 500 error. Restarting the instances manually, starts them properly. I think the issue is that the org.eclipse.jetty.util.log.JavaUtilLog's ServerConnector is being started with port 5500 instead of a random port (in the log files you are see an argument AVAILABLE is used by ColdFusion when it's calling the constructor). I suspect what is happening is that during restart of the server, all services try to start at the same time and all of them try port 5500 first to see if it's available for use. Since there are 8 cpu cores being used, I think some instances on different cpu cores "sense" port 5500 is available and try to use it, but in the meantime different instances on onother cpu core is actually claiming the port and then other instances are getting an exception and cannot recover from it. Restarting those manually, gives them a new random number since port 5500 is already used by one instance.

The question that we have is: can we force particular ColdFusion instance to use different port for this particular org.eclipse.jetty.util.log.JavaUtilLog's ServerConnector and if not, is there some other workaround? We tried the below things so far, but not of them semm to help. Our testing included stopping all instances and trying to change below settings on one instance to see if it will use different port for the org.eclipse.jetty.util.log.JavaUtilLog's ServerConnectorm after start, but it always tries to claim port 5500 first:

  • Tried changing jvm arguments to the below. We tried all of those because we're not even sure which one is correct, different documentation we found online didn't say specifically this can be done with ColdFusion servers and we're not very familiar with how Jetty operates or what it's job is in ColdFusion server. None of these help our issue:
    -Djetty.http.port=20003
    -Dorg.eclipse.jetty.http.port=20003
    -Dorg.eclipse.jetty.server.Server.port=20003
    -Dorg.eclipse.jetty.Server.port=20003
  • Also, tried changing the jetty.xml file in D:\CF11\cfusion\jetty\etc folder (it only exists in the main cfusion instance but the other instances), line 139, changed port to 0. This didn't make a difference either:
    <Set name="port"><Property name="jetty.port" default="0" /></Set>

This log file is from one of the instances having issue during last server restart:

It is crashing our servers...  We set Maximum JVM Heap Size (MB)   to 1024...  but it doesn't change anything.  Ideas?

Thanks!

Advance Scheduling support is not available in this edition of ColdFusion server

Hi,

we have ColdFusion 10 standard edtition and just want to create a standard scheduled task with a Monthly interval or Weekly interval, how can I do that, keep getting the error above! And I really don't hope I need Enterprise edition for this simple task, it worked like a charm in CF 7 that we are upgrading to. Any workaround or hotfix?

//Regards

Martin

CF 10 very slow

I have a Windows 2003 SP2 IIS 6.0 32 bit server Dell 2850 4 G RAM - as a test platform.

I was running CF9 standard normally on the server with good page performance.

I installed CF10  standard (Plus the mandatory update) on the server and now the admin screen and all web pages take over 30 sec to load.

Task manager shows mostly idle at 99%  - Single NIC active with a single IP address in use.

I remove cp10 and restarted cf9 and the performance is back to normal.

Ideas?

CF10 Updates does not find any

I am fairly new to CF so forgive my ignorance. If someone could just point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

I have installed CF10 with the mandatory update on Windows 2008 r2 server.

System Information
Server Details
Server Product ColdFusion
Version ColdFusion 10,283111
Tomcat Version 7.0.23.0
Edition Enterprise

The updates page does not work when I click "Check for Updates"

The update log is showing:

Feb 18, 2013   1:42 PM   Error   ajp-bio-8012-exec-5   CFADMIN
Not able to connect to Update Site: Connection Failure: Status code unavailable

Is there something that I need to configure in CF to get the updates to work properly? Otherwise, where can I download Hotfix 7 from to install in manually?

Thanks

403 Error on ISAPI_redirect.dll IIS IsapiModule

We recently installed and configured a CF10 server on a 08 r2 box. After following the Adobe recommended setup (custom accounts for each of the services - iis, cf) in the lockdown guide and a reboot, cfm pages are no longer properly handled (redirected).

The web server trace identifies this as the root problem:

144. CALL_ISAPI_EXTENSION

DllName[home_dir]\config\wsconfig\1\isapi_redirect.dll

Warning

145. -MODULE_SET_RESPONSE_ERROR_STATUS

User from tokenNT AUTHORITY\IUSR

We've already made sure that exe rights are provided for the IUSR (as well as cf and iis) to both that .dll as well as the entire folder.

We have also tried changing the handler mapping (invoke only if req is mapped to file/folder) as well as it's access config (none, script, exec).

The only time we get a different error mesage is when we disable the *.cfm mapping - which rightly so yields a 500 or a 404 error message.

By not processing .cfm page correctly the cf admin is not accessible either.

Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

p.s. there is no subcode (substatus) to the 403.

Coldfusion 10 Enterprise, IIS 8.5 503 errors

We are upgrading certain applications in our environment to Coldfusion 10 and Server 2012 R2.

Everything in the QUA environment worked great, no issues.  However, when I put the new servers in production, I started seeing random 503 issues from the servers. (the application pools were stopped) - Restarting the application pool revived the site without a need to restart coldfusion.  In the interim of finding a fix, I had a powershell script checking the status of my app pool hourly and if it is down, I have it restart it and email me.

When I started looking into this, I did some tuning of my IIS connectors based on this article: Tuning ColdFusion 10 IIS Connector configuration — Adobe ColdFusion Blog - These particular servers are configured with one instance of coldfusion but separate connectors for each of the sites. Since implementing those changes last week, the 503 errors have only occurred one other time over the past weekend. Looking in the isapi_redirect.log file, I see this error that corresponds to each time the application pools crashed:

[error] init_jk::jk_isapi_plugin.c (2795): Initializing shm:(null) errno=-1. Load balancing workers will not function properly.

Just wondering what the above is actually referencing and if my issue is truly related to load?

Coldfusion 11 random crash after 6-12 hours

Hello,

We upgraded from Coldfusion 9 to Coldfusion 11.

System:

OS: Windows 2008 r2 64bit

Ram: 16 gb

Steps I took to do this upgrade.

1. uninstalled CF 9

2. uninstalled current version of java

3. reboot system

4. install latest Java 1.8.x

5. install Coldfusion 11

6. run coldfusion 11 updates

7. configured all datasources and settings in cfusion instance. (didn't want to import from 9)

8. test cfusion instance to make sure everything is working.

9. create are new instances for the websites. (4)

10. sign in to each instance and tweak settings.

11. assign 1 site to each instance for testing.

12. test the each site and make sure everything is still working.

13. follow Adobe lockdown guide as much as we can.

14 retest everything still seems fine.

run 6-12 hours and I get random crashes.

suddently get CF errors saying can't find includes which is a false error.

in the coldfusion-out.log I get this when the issue happens

after getting these errors and doing a google search I saw the connector tuning steps.

so I tried that but still get the same crashes.

I don't know what to look at next, I'm at a total loss on this issue since everything ran fine in CF 9.

Thank you in advance for any help and if you need more information let me know.

Unable to update ColdFusion 11 after install (on Windows)

I'm trying to install CF11 (Standard) on a new Windows server (Windows Server 2012 R2). Installation was apparently successful, but when I go into the Administrator to install the latest update, I can't. When I click either the "Download" or the "Download and Install" button, nothing happens. I'm specifically hoping to install the latest cumulative update (5), but I tried the buttons for Update 4 also and they didn't work either. And from what I can find, Adobe no longer provides a manual way to download and install updates.

I tried launching the browser using "Run as administrator" and that didn't help. I've tried IE and Chrome. The rest of the Administrator seems to be working OK -- for example, I was able to update server settings.

I greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.

Is there any way to modify adminapi/base.cfc

Hello,

Perhaps I'm a bit paranoic, but, is possible to modify adminapi/base.cfc in order to not show the version information?

When you call http://[server]/CFIDE/adminapi/base.cfc?wsdl it displays a template with a comment like <!--WSDL created by ColdFusion version 10,0,14,291717-->, and I would prefer to not disclose that information.

Thanks in advance,

Coldfusion 10 service won't start at all

We have ColdFusion10 (update 17) Standard Edition installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server. It has been installed and running fine for a couple years, but in the last few weeks we have had trouble starting the service. After reboot it wouldn't start automatically or through a .bat file that checks to make sure it's started every morning. It also would time out starting from the Server Manager console. We were able to start it from the command line using net start "COLDFUSION 10 APPLICATION SERVER", but now it will not work that way either.

The logs do not appear to show anything unusual as far as I can tell. The only way we have been able to get it started is to run cfstart.bat in the cfusion\bin directory. The websites are available, but the actual service is not running (at least as far as windows monitoring is concerned).

This error is showing up in the server event log when we try to start the service:

One possibility that we have wondered about is that Microsoft .NET Framework updates could have possibly broken it. That was the only update installed before it was broken this past time. The service has taken a while to start up in the past, but never so long that it times out and we couldn't start it from the Server Manager. And we have never seen it fail to start at all multiple times in a row. To be clear, it fails EVERY time, even if you try 20 times in a row.

We are considering rebuilding the server, but I would really like to just fix this one. Who knows if it could happen again. Thanks for any feedback.

CFThread Queue

On page 12 (http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/configuring.pdf) this document says there should be a maximimum number of CFTHREADs setting, but in my Request Tuning section on the server administrator (CF8) it goes right from max number of simultaneous CFC function requests to the next section, JRun Master Request Limits.

Please helpd, thanks!

Server Error - Macromedia application server(s) are unreachable

For my test environment, I've got a ColdFusion 8 instance running on Windows 2003 Server. Everything was fine until I rebooted the server. Then I started getting an error message:

quote:

Either the Macromedia application server(s) are unreachable or none of them has a mapping to process this request.

My first thought was an application mapping error or something happened to the .cfm mappings. Everything checked out fine though. So I looked in the wsconfig log files and saw this.

quote:

2008-06-04 16:54:58 jrISAPI[ 760:1048] could not initialize proxy for 127.0.0.1:51800
2008-06-04 16:54:58 jrISAPI[ 760:1048] Couldn't initialize from remote server, JRun server(s) probably down.

Something was definitely running on port 51800 though since I could telnet to it. No clue why it couldn't initialize. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Upgrading Multiple Instances of CF8 to CF8.01

I am running CF8 on a Windows 2003 server. I have 13 instances on this server. I need to get all of them to CF8.01 but I don't know how. I ran the coldfusion8-win-updater and selected Mulit-server configuration. When I look at the instance where the install was pointed for CFIDE, that instance is at 8.01. The others are still at 8.0. I then stopped everything again and ran the install and selected Multi-server configuration again. I then pointed the installation to another one of my instances CFIDE . When I try to open that instance I get an error message. That is included at the end of this post. Can SOMEONE tell me how to upgrade all of these instances to 8.01? And, can someone tell me what the fix is for my error?

CF8 Missing Virtual Directories

$

I have noticed an issue in CF8. If I install a new IIS Website then Coldfusion is not creating the CFIDE and CFDocs virtual directory mappings in IIS. If I then reinstall Coldfusion 8 it will create the mappings for all sites. I have tried using the web configuration tool and remove the site and add it back and still not CFIDE mapping.

Can someone please help...
