Is CF10 working optimally

CF10 tomcat logs indicate it is not working optimally. Is the INFO message following normal operation or something to worry about?

Unable to download CF10 Update 2, Failed Checksum verification

I just installed CF10 on a new Windows Server 2008R2 machine. I installed the mandatory update and was able to download and install update 1 through the administrator, but I'm unable to get update 2 to even download. I get the following error:

Error occurred while installing the update:

Failed Checksum verification

I did find that if you install the mandatory update and then update 1, the CF version reverts back to 282462. I had to apply the mandatory update again. Unfortunately that doesn't fix the problem, still no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Version/Build number hasn't incremented after updates

Hi,

I've deployed another ColdFusion 10 RHEL6 server and due to some firewall issues it isn't able to connect to the update center to grab the hotfixes.

So I copied the jar files from another server that I was able to update successfully and ran all the updates manually.

Now when I log into the CF administrator the build/version number has not gone up to what I expect. Does anyone have any ideas?

The installation log had one nonFatalError, but I got the same on the existing server

Installation: Successful with errors.

New CF10 install (localhost) not showing debug info

Have a Developer edition CF10 working otherwise normally.  New install.

However, debugging output ... set to show EVERYTHING; so am used to seeing web page followed by all variables on screen.

Told it to show to 127.0.0.1  and when I print cgi.remote _Addr on screen I get ::1

Cannot add that ... when I tell it to add current IP to list  get 0.0.0.0.0.0.0.1

CF10 must be confused by local IP address?

Never had this problem before ... using CF since verion 4.5!

Browsing to CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm locks up IIS & causes all .cfm pages fail?

This issue just started this morning, has never happened before:

  • I remoted into my Coldfusion server via Remote Desktop
  • I opened IE and tried to log into the CF Admin page
  • The browser just kept spinning, page never displayed
  • Then I started getting calls from all of my users saying that all the CF sites were down!

To fix:

  • I had to reboot the server.

Notes:

  • If I try browsing to the CF Admin page, all of the sites go down again?

  • If I don't try to browse/open the CF Admin page, the CF sites stay up and run fine.

Specs:

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter
  • Coldfusion 9
  • MySQL 5.5
  • IIS 7.5

ColdFusion 2018 - Applying Hotfix 1 - Pretasks failing with no error messages

$

All,

I got my CF2018 up and running, nice and secured, with a copy of our production webfiles.  I am now attempting to apply hotfix-1 against the environment.

I download the file from the updates area (our servers do not allow external internet connections) and attempt to run the jar but it seems to be failing in the pretasks stating I do not have sufficent privileges.

Basic info:

Have full access to all drives impacted (read/write/modify)

Have access to start/stop the service (windows 2016)

I am using Oracle JDK 10.0.2 java.exe to run the command line

The summary states:

Summary

-------

Installation:  Cancelled during pre-install.

32 Successes

0 Warnings

0 NonFatalErrors

0 FatalErrors

So it stats the user account should have rea/write privileges to the files in the CF root directory and to start/stop the service.  Yet the log starts I have all the access and each part is successful..  Is there a better log file than the one created during the .jar installation?

CFMX falls over

Regarding a moment of clarity and frustration with issues relating to server consumption (tb) and the following long running threads (insert irony here)
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=143&threadid=77664 7
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=143&threadid=907581&ent erthread=y

AND also just casually browsing the following article,
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_19438

AND the fact that everything these days is a webservice or a component call, is it perhaps a MASSIVE problem that the following tags (which I'm sure everyone must be using) DO NOT obey server settings relating to thread timeouts etc:

-cfstoredproc,
-cfcontent,
-cfftp,
-cfexecute,
-cfobject

Imagine thread request 1 asking for a cfobject on something that won't respond, and a similar (say) X requests come in, thus hogging your X setting of possible threads running making it impossible for any more requests to be processed and thus giving the appearance of CF being broken (though necessarily it may be saying "I'm alright jack, just running my X requests")
You are then screwed are you not or am I missing something?

CF 9 + Access + Vista

I noticed the following footnotes on the ColdFusion 9 Systems Support Matrix PDF, and I’m not 100% clear on what they mean:

“Microsoft Access 2007 will be supported only via the ODBC Socket driver. ODBC Socket data sources do not work on Windows Vista.”

If I have CF 9 installed on a dedicated server running some version of Windows Server + an Access 2007 database that the CF scripts pull from for data (also on that server) + my own machine running Windows Vista. Will that all work together okay?

I guess my question is: does “OBDC Socket data sources do not work on Windows Vista” only apply if the CF software is running on a Vista machine?

(And no disparaging comments necessary about my still using Access. This is a development-only CF set-up where Access still seems to do its job just fine.)

Thanks!

I have coldfusion 9 server on my development server. but when i try to log in to the website on the dev server a licensing error shows up saying the IP address is disallowed. can anyone tell me how to assign the IP address that needs to have access to the CF server?

Help me figure this hack out.

So as i was opening my presents with my family Christmas morning when my web server emailed me to let me know that a file had been created in my /CFIDE/ folder. This file was h.cfm and it was a nifty little tool used to scan files - copy files - dump SQL passwords - run commands - upload files ect....

My setup is CF9.0.1 on win server 2008 with mySQL5.5 . The servers only purpose is to host a few websites for my company. I poured over my IIS logs and could not find any trace of a connection to the webserver while this was happening. I then started looking at the http.log file in coldfusion server and found that it contained 2 entries at the time of the attack. Both looked like this... note i've removed the IP of the server. This file is the file that was uploaded to my server.

25-Dec-2012    6:54 AM    Information    jrpp-6969  Starting HTTP request {URL='http://IPAddress:80/CFIDE/h9.txt', method='get'}

There was nothing before this connection and nothing after it.  It looks like some how my server was told to make a call to here.  Nothing in any logs regarding the use of the h.cfm, no loggs in IIS showing suspicious page hit before and nothign suspicious after.

Am i missing something??? this is driving me nuts! The other weird thing about this attack was that they didn't touch any websites they copied the ColdFusion9\updater_backup\ folder and a few other odd things off the server.

Any insight into anything that went on would be helpful... even if it's just a guess that points me in the right direction.

Thanks,

JB.

updgrade CF9 to CF11

Hi,

Running Windows server 2008 and CF 9.

I'm trying to update CF9 Standard to CF 11 standard.

I've downloaded the trail version.

I run the installer and then the migration wizard runs.

But after that, the site is still running under CF 9. I know this because if I stop the CF9 process, the site goes down.

There must be some other files I am supposed to modify or move but I can't figure out what they are.

I do notice when I go into IIS 7, there are handlers set up for both CF9 and CF11 -- I can tell this by looking at the file paths to the various handlers.

Where is the 'hook' that ties CF into my web pages? That is what seems to not be working. The 'hook' is tying my web pages into CF9 and not CF11

I've been trying this for about a week now and still no luck. Very frustrating.

Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Cold Fusion 11 Java versions between environments question

$

Hi,

The Java version for the Cold Fusion 11 in the Development and Test environments is:

Java Version  1.7.0_51

The Java version for the Cold Fusion 11 in the production environment is

Java Version  1.8.0_25

Is it possible to bring the development and test up to the Java version in production without installing the Cold Fusion build that was used in the production install?

If so, how would this be done?

Thanks,

Mike

Can anyone explain why I cannot find a link to the 2016 version of cf server or developer edition for 2016 anywhere on the adobe site including this forum?  Is anyone else concerned about using 2018 dev edition and not having true compatibility for clients that I am developing code for 2016 server base?  Please help adobe update these links on the downloads page here - >> Adobe - ColdFusion Support Center : More Downloads and can someone please give me the direct download link for 2016 developer edition.

Thanks!

How to Kill a Request in CF8?

$

I have a few requests in my application that show as running for well over a million seconds and I'm trying to kill them, but when I click the red (!) icon and say that yes, I want to abort that request, nothing happens.  The request is still there. I am rewriting these processes, but am looking to stop the request in the meantime.

Is this a bug, or is this outside the scope of the server monitor's capabilities, or am I just doing it wrong?  If nothing else, I can restart CF services later tonight.

Thanks!

HTTP2 not showing configured w/external tests Coldfusion 2016

$

We recently put our CF 2016 and MS Server 2016 online for production.  While checking for self-induced errors, several external checking tools show that our site is not configured for http/2.   Redirects for http to https are in place as are the proper SSL certs. No errors discovered there.

Local tests, suggested on internet posts, do show we are configured to serve http/2 and log files show the same.  However, looking at our jakarta redirect urls on the IIS logs may indicate that http/2 are being converted to http/1.  The Tomcat log shows, virtually, every query as http/1.

Is there anything that I am missing on either IIS 10 or CF 2016 settings?

Restart looses all CFM pages

$

I'm at a losss here. We upgraded from 6.1 to 7.02 via the download install and applying CD key (Window 2003 SP2). Everytime we upgrade part one goes ok and then we musty run the Administrator program, if it does complete (50%) of time nad we get to the end of migration, then CFM pages will work until we need to make a change and restart the service, once that happens all CFM pages fail to load (page not found) and we get NULL 500 on the Administrator page. The only way to recover is a uninstall and reinstall. We've even taken to rebooting a couple times, still once we make a change (a legit change as it runs fine in our test server) and restart the service, it's pooched. I'm pretty sure even if we reboot the server we'll loose it. I tried applying hotfix one and hotfix two for 7.02, they broke everything right off the bat, so we've given up on those.
Not even a restart of the App service can bring back the CFM pages, there is something horribly wrong in there when a reboot kills your CFM pages and no errors that I know whjere to look to see why it is happening.

cfdocument flashpaper broken

We have cfdocument code that generates a FlashPaper file of an invoice. It works for several days, then stops. When it stops working, there is no error, just a empty browser window. I searched the logs and cannot find any error or indication of the problem. After ColdFusion is restarted, the FlashPaper generates fine for several days until it stops again.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul

Updating Java JDK on ColdFusion 2016

$

I've just moved from CF8 up to ColdFusion 2016, which has the rather handy UPDATE button.

I noticed that it does not appear to update the Java JDK, the install I used placed version 1.8.0_112  however if I look on Oracle I see there is an 8u_152 ( Java SE Development Kit 8 - Downloads  )

The question I have (which it looks like the answer is obvious) is do I have to manually update the JDK still? If so I guess I'll install in the program files then change the host file in CF to point to the JRE inside the JDK.

Second question, the last info I could find was that ColdFusion 2016 is not compatible with Java version 9, is that still the case or should I go for the latest and greatest version 9? Currently version 9.0. 1 ( Java SE Development Kit 9 - Downloads  )

MX7 Still installed after CF 8 Upgrade

I am trying to work on a few issues with my server and one thing that brought up a red flag was that after upgrading to CF 8, coldfusion MX7 stays installed on my machine (had to disable the mx7 services as well). Has anyone had this problem? Is it safe to uninstall?
