MX8 on RedHat with Symbolic Link

I have noticed a difference in the way MX8 handles Symbolic Links within the template path directory.

Consider:

/opt/coldfusion/www/site1/Application.cfm
/opt/coldfusion/www/common/util.cfm
/opt/coldfusion/www/site1/common -> /opt/coldfusion/www/common (symbolic link)

When accessinghttp://127.0.0.1/site1/common/util.cfm, the resulting template path is /opt/coldfusion/www/common/util.cfm versus /opt/coldfusion/www/site1/common/util.cfm and Application.cfm is not included.

Creating the identical scenario in MX6 works as expected, where the template path is /opt/coldfusion/www/site1/common/util.cfm and Application.cfm is included.

Is there a configuration within CF or JRun that controls how Symbolic Links are handled? It really doesn't make sense that the application layer would negate an OS level configuration. Please help as this is a key component to our upgrade path from MX6 to MX8.

CFHTTP (HTTPS) "unable to find valid certification path to requested target"

Hello,

 

I'm using ColdFusion Standard 11,0,05,293506 on Windows Server 2012. I get the following error message when trying to connect to a specific site over HTTPS using CFHTTP:

I/O Exception: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

 

I followed a suggestion found elsewhere, where I imported the certificate into the cacerts store and that works....for one day. I've been working on this for 3 days and every day I'm back to that same error until I re-import the certificate. The certificate is supposed to be valid from 2/1/15 - 2/1/17, so I have no idea what's going on here. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

 

As an aside, I'm trying to do Azure AD authentication using oAuth 2.0. I tried the new CFOAUTH tag and it worked great with Facebook, but errors out on the Access Token portion with Azure AD (retrieves the Authorization Code just fine though). That is why I'm using CFHTTP. CFHTTP works great when I'm not getting the certificate error, but I can't be updating cacerts every day.

Connecting ColdFusion 7 to 64 bit database

I have Cold Fusion version 7 (32 bit) currently connected to SQL 2000 and 2005 (32 bit) using a DSN connected.

 

We are wanting to upgrade the databases to SQL 2012 which is (64 bit)

 

So we want to connect the (32 bit) Cold Fusion application server to a (64 bit) SQL database using a DSN connection.

 

 

Is this possible? If so how?

Unable to start ColdFusion application service

ColdFusion application was starting fine until I installed JVM and I now got this error.

metrics logging / metrics.log - what exactly are the logged fields?

I enabled metrics logging using steps found here Enable Metric logging | ColdFusion 10 , but with the additional steps of specifying the correct port number in the CF Admin Console / Debug Output Settings section.

 

Many fields are logged, and some seem obvious.  Others are ambiguous - like Error Count.  Does anyone have a link to something that provides a true definition of each of the logged fields?

ColdFusion 11 - PDF Server - Linux SLES 12

I've buy CF11 ancd want to use the PDF server, but i dosn't work.

The "Verify all Service Manager" in the PDF Service page say:

     "Connection verification failed for PDF Service Manager: localhost Check logs for more details."

I the log i found only this line (/opt/coldfusion/cfusion/logs/server.log)

     "Error","ajp-bio-8014-exec-4","11/18/15","14:16:03",,"Connect to 127.0.0.1:8987 [/127.0.0.1] failed: Connection refused http://127.0.0.1:8987/PDFgServlet/verify"

 

After some google serch i found that page: https://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/pdf-generation-in-coldfusion.html

 

But .... i've a SLES 12 (Suse Linux Enterprise Server) and i don't find on YAST all the libraries that this Adobe document mention.

What i've to do? Whare i can find that libraries?

Adobe tell me that CF 11 work on SLES 12 and i want it all work.

In need the right library for my operating system and the correct instruction for made PDF server oin CF11 work on SLES 12

Coldfusion Process Won't Timeout

I can't get some processes to timeout, even though in the Coldfusion Admin I have the setting set to 180 seconds. Here's the a snippet from TOP:

i have too many configured sites in the list when i run the web server configuration tool, so i can't even click on the buttons at the bottom anymore, and since there is no scrollbar or such, i can't add anymore sites...

any advices???

Repeated JVM Crashes

I'm investigating recurring server crashes on our CF MX 7 server and have noticed in the Hot Spot process dump a HUGE number (in the hundreds) of obj-skimmer daemons, all marked [_thread_blocked].

What kinds of things might cause this to occur?

CF Server TimeZone location

I am new to CF. I am having an issue were CF is displaying the wrong timezone information. I have CF 6.1. If I run the "setting summary" from the admin page the time that is says the report is generated is wrong. I can not find the right place to adjust that setting. The sever time is correct.

Does anyone know where that setting is pulled from?

Graphing Engine Error

We have been getting this error when trying to generate any charts using CFChart.

"The chart could not be generated due to an error in the graphing engine"

The charts were working fine for over a year then suddenly they started throwing this error. Any suggestions?

We are running ColdFusion MX 6.1 on Unix with an IPlanet webserver.

We have already tried the simple solutions ... restarting the services, rebooting the machine, recreating the connectors.

Thanks for any help that you might be able to provide!

cfthread queue

In the ColdFusion Administrator, on my machine the setting "Maximum number of threads available for CFTHREAD" is set to 10, which is the default and supposed maximum for Standard Edition.

Yet, in practice, I'm finding that only two threads are being started (based on looking at each thread's Starttime and Status). This is a problem because once two threads get into the status WAITING if they are joining to threads that are NOT_STARTED deadlock occurs. It is also a problem as things are theoretically going five times as slow.

What setting am I missing? Is there another limit to threads? My settings are mostly default settings.

I'm using Coldfusion 8,0,0,176276 with a Standard Edition License.

Stress Testing

I have an application running in a server but before releasing it to he clients I want to test the server and see how many connections are available before the server goes down.
Does anybody know how can I test the server, simulating multiple connections at the same time? I think this is called stress testing.

Problem with Jrun dll

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with the jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll hanging and causing IIS to stop responding. We notice this when the website stops responding. However you can still remote desktop into the server, and the server seems to be working fine.

As we researched the issue, Microsoft identified jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll as being the problem, and indicated that it was hanging.

Just checking to see if anyone else had had this issue, and if what they had done. The version of jrun_iis6_wildcard.dll we have is 4.0.5.27373 build 92909

Should have added we are running Cold Fusion 7.0

jrunserver.store - Permission denied

Hi All,

 

After restarting jrun we are not facing any issues , but after some time i am getting some weird error like

 

[Wed Jul 22 12:34:46 2009] [notice] jrApache[9041: 9436]  could not open "/opt/jrun4/lib/wsconfig/1/jrunserver.store": Permission denied.

 

And my coldfusion server restarts. Is my webserver restarting due to this error? Whats the solution to fix this error. We dont have much users logging into the system but still the CPU usage is high because of jrun.

Any alternative beside CF Administrator scheduled task?

My scheduled tasks unable to run on CF9 but when I browse in IE it's working fine.

I believe CF9 scheduled task very sensitive on the code as I tried to remarks on some coding its working fine.

When I removed the remarks it unable to process.

 

Any help on this? Is there any other way to run a schedule without using CF Administrator?

Coldfusion 9 ODBC Agent & ODBC Server not starting

Hello !

 

I currently have Coldfusion 9 Enterprise Edition 64 bit installed on a Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server.  I did not notice this before but on this server, both the Coldfusion 9 ODBC Agent & Server services will not start.  I have tried starting them but they start for a second and then stop.  A dialog box then gets displayed which says "The Coldfusion 9 ODBC Agent service on Local Computer started and then stopped.  Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs".  I have checked the event viewer on the server and I am seeing the following messages on the enterprise edition server.

 

The description for Event ID 0 from source ColdFusion 9 ODBC Agent cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

ColdFusion 9 ODBC Agent@LOCALHOST,ErrorCode=430,ErrorMessage=Failed to open event trace file because the file version is not recognised.

The strange this is that I have Coldfusion 9 Standard Edition 64 bit also installed on another Windows 2008 R2 64 bit server and both of the ODBC services on that machine are starting fine.  I have checked the account these services are running under on both servers and both services on both machines are running under the local system account so I am not sure if it is permission related or not.

 

 

I would appreciate it if some could assist me in getting these services started and what I need to do.

Deploying WAR file

We have recently purchased CF10 Enterprise and we want to package an existing application and deploy it to a customer's server. The instructions and guides available are pretty vague on what needs to be done on the deployment side. We have a WAR file of our CF application packaged already, we've setup a test server with J2EE installed, but we're at a loss on what to do next. There is not much documentation available.

Does anyone know the deployment options (setting up IIS? etc) for a WAR install?
