Server won't start/Bad JVM?

Running CFMX7.02. After noticing that the Java version was 1.4 something (the version originally supplied with the product in 2006), and that I couldn't do things like use the "browse server" controls in CFAdministrator without getting Java errors, I repointed the CF engine to use the version supplied by Java on their website today. Now the server won't start.

From the CF error log:

Error: no `server' JVM at `C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\server\jvm.dll'.

Windows event log is no help, reporting that is has received "server-specific error code 2". Based on the advice of some earlier topic, I tried to restart the service with "interact with the Desktop" checked, but no DOS window there.

Any ideas? I'd be happy to point CF back to its own version of Java, if I could do so without interacting with the Administrator (which requires starting the server).
